Join Mayor Reed and the City of Montgomery in celebrating #NationalBlackBusinessMonth as we recognize the importance of Black-owned own businesses in our local community. Every August, the U.S. honors the success of Black entrepreneurship that helps sustain our communities and the nation's economy. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, black business owners account for 10 percent of the U.S. business.
We encourage you to show your support to our local black business owners by shopping/dining locally, spreading positive messages through feedback and word-of-mouth, and sharing social media and advertising platforms. We are proud to highlight local licensed black-owned business and their contributions. Nominate a licensed business that you would like to see spotlighted. We will feature the nominated business owners in the community on the City of Montgomery's social media platforms until August 31st.
